Manager (information Governance)

JOB SCOPE

Summary of Job Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the Company’s information governance efforts at the property level through the information lifecycle and assist the Data Protection Counsel with personal data protection law compliance efforts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day activities and all aspects of the Information Governance Program
  • Evaluate, monitor, and assist with developing new processes and procedures for management, retention, disposition and other related internal controls for physical and electronic records
  • Provide retention guidance and assist in planning and overseeing of retention and disposition processes for physical and electronic records, including records stored at offsite storage facilities
  • Oversee and manage the annual data retention compliance process and completion of department level annual records review periods
  • Develop and manage Information Governance metrics and prepare regular status reports on the Information Governance Program
  • Capture, review, and analyze performance measures for the Information Governance Program
  • Liaise with department level Data Champions and cross-functional teams to advise on and incorporate appropriate information management controls as needed for the management of physical and electronic records, including structure and unstructured data
  • Coordinate with IT and Cyber Security Teams to incorporate records management controls into the design, development, and implementation of system applications
  • Develop and manage implementation of remediation plans as risks and opportunities are identified, and ensure risk is managed, mitigated or escalated as needed
  • Facilitate development, roll-out, and management of special projects related to Information Governance
  • Work closely and proactively with representatives from internal departments, project teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure that records and information assets are managed cost-efficiently and in accordance with the Information Governance objectives and policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and business needs
  • Assist with institutionalizing and socializing the IG initiatives and objectives with department level Data Champions and others within the organization
  • Assess and make recommendations for improvement to department-level file plans, storage, organization methods, and equipment and storage usage of data, information, records in physical and electronic form
  • Maintain and update Records Retention Schedules regularly for the organization
  • Identify inactive records and submits Destruction Authorization Forms to department level Data Champions and Data Protection Counsel for further review and approval

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in relevant discipline.
  • Preferably 2 years of experience in data governance or compliance.
  • Project Management skills highly desired
  • Must be a process oriented individual
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must have exceptional intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
