Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is one of the world's busiest arts centres and it officially opened on 12 October 2002. This architectural icon with its distinctive twin shells, is sited within Singapore's civic district, just by Marina Bay at the mouth of the Singapore River. Esplanade aims to be a performing arts centre for everyone. Its programmes cater to diverse audiences and the line-up spans all genres to encompass music, dance, theatre and visual arts, with a special emphasis on Asian culture.

Esplanade houses world-class performance spaces, supported by a comprehensive range of professional support facilities and services. Its two main venues are the 1,600-seat Concert Hall, with acoustics by Russell Johnson of ARTEC Consultants, and the 2,000-seat theatre, an adaptation of the traditional European opera houses in horseshoe form.

In the past year, Esplanade has welcomed over seven million visitors and presented more than 3,000 performances.

Customer Experience Officer

Salary: 2700

You will oversee venue operations and event management for front of house services to all customers particularly during performances ensuring excellent service standards.  As a member of the Customer Experience team, you must have a love for the arts and must be a strong believer/upholder of our service culture. In performing your duties, you must have empathy and lots of patience in managing customers, flexibility and resourcefulness in handling the unexpected and the ability to think on your feet to resolve operational issues.

As a Customer Experience Officer, you must be able to embrace our fundamental service values of kindness, warmth, integrity and humilty.

This is a shift work position with a 5-day work week ( the 2 rest days are not necessarily on weekends but are rostered on a rotational basis).  Besides looking after all customers during performances as the venue officer, your job requires you to supervise ushers, host, manage the information counter and hotline, administration of ticket sales and conducting guided tours (if any) and performing other general customer service and administrative back of house duties. 

You must have 2 to 3 years' working experience in a customer service role. The ability to communicate fluently in English and a second language (whether Mandarin, Malay or Tamil) is a must.
